DE-CIX Munich’s public peering service will also greatly enhance the speed and reliability of your IP products.

We also provide free value-added services such as the DE-CIX Munich route-server which will get you free access to other participants (which also use the route servers) immediately – without the hassle of negotiating agreements with every potential peering partner. The ALP-IX public peering service is the first choice for wholesale, broadband and content providers seeking a robust selection of Internet networks for connectivity to their customers.

All DE-CIX Munich switches and servers are highly redundant and carrier class systems which are monitored 24x7x365 by DE-CIX Management GmbH and our knowledgeable and responsive staff provides unmatched support for your business.

Customers access the platform via ports ordered at the speed best suited to meet their needs (100Mbps, fractional 1Gbps, 1Gbps, 10Gbps). If you would like to join, you need to have your own Autonomous System Number (ASN) and your connection has to comply with the DE-CIX Munich technical requirements.

The process of ordering a patch from your rack at your colo provider to the DE-CIX Munich switch consists of two parts:

  1. Order a patch from DE-CIX Munich to your colo provider
  2. Order a patch from your equipment at Equinix to the DE-CIX Munich presence

Please send an email to support@de-cix.net with your company and contact details plus the following information:

  • Location A is "Patchpanel Equinix"
  • Location B is "EQX-DE-CIX Munich"
  • Connection is "DarkFiber"
  • Type is "SM patch to DE-CIX Munich switch"
Within a few days we will then send you the exact position of our presence at your colo provider (you will need this for the next step).

2. Order a patch from your rack to the DE-CIX Munich presence

Use your colo providers procedure to order the patch from your rack to the presence we gave you.
